Outkast was my favorite group growing up. I felt like their music described my way of thinking. They was some smooth cats but they had some forward thinking capabilities. They always made me question shit! It's funny because when I heard " The art of storytellin" I can remember almost crying from Andre's verse. I felt like it described the plight of our communities. That was another time in my life when I said I have to be apart of Hip-Hop. Even if I just write about it. If nobody understood you Hip-Hop was there. It's corny, but its real. Hip-Hop felt like a friend. I know rappers get caught up in trying to please the mainstream, but at one point they was probably so deep into that "real shit" too. You just get caught up out here. Andre 3 stacks had this verse on "Rosa Parks", and he talked about how he was kinda sour cuz his fav rap group was startin to " sell out" for lack of a better word. They strayed away from their initial shit. But it's all good to me, I love all HipHop. Talkin bout' money can be creative sometimes. Just don't do the same typical bull-shit. Switch ur flow up, use a metaphor, don't over rap the track, and let the beat breathe sometimes. sheesh! Outkast always kept it funky, but they really went deep. I love Hip-Hop man.
Andre's verse on "The Art of Storytellin"
Now Suzy Skrew had a partna named Sasha (Sasha), Thumper (Thumper)
I remember her number like the summer
when her and Suzy yeah they threw a slumber - - party
but you can not call it that cause it was slummer
Well it was more like spend the night
Three in the morning yawnin dancin under street lights
We chillin like a villain and a nigga feelin right
in the middle of the ghetto on the curb, but in spite
all of the bullshit we on our back starin at the stars above
(aww man) Talkin bout what we gonna be when we grow up
I said what you wanna be, she said, "Alive" (hmm)
It made me think for a minute, then looked in her eyes
I coulda died, time went on, I got grown
Rhyme got strong, mind got blown, I came back home
to find lil Sasha was gone
Her mamma said she with a nigga that be treatin her wrong
I kept on singin my song and hopin at a show
that I would one day see her standin in the front row
But two weeks later she got found in the back of a school
With a needle in her arm, baby two months due, Sasha Thumper

The Abaltimorelovething fam headed out to NY to Support Trey R, Simplex, Peaceful Money, and some more artist from the DMV and North Carolina at Yams BAKESALE /CONCERT. It was cool. Everybody did their thing and we made connects and shit. The Trip was cool, on the way there, we stopped at this (gas station/ Mcdonalds). Never seen those put-together before. Bird got us their safe, and we was crackin' up the whole time. Will took some cool photo's. Wish we coulda went to Soho. Peaceful Money said they went and seen some cool shit. I'll prolly go back when a negro get's some cash cash( i didn't right that wrong, i meant alot of money). Yeah but all in all it was cool. R.I.P. Michael Jackson. They were playing videos in Times Square, and everyone was at the Apollo celebrating his legacy.
The Acronym was used in common's " I used to love H.E.R".It stands for hip hop in it's essence and realist. The westside slaughterhouse track is off of Mack 10's self titled debut album. Common then responded with "The Bitch in Yoo" that was on a relativity records "Urban Assault" compilation album.
Jill Scott was into hip-hop before the R&B scene. She was real cool w/ Cool C who had this hit( The Glamorous Life" back in the 90's(She's the main girl in the video). She also wrote poetry before she started to sing.Jazzy Jeff and his company "A touch of Jazz" helped develop her career. The first album " Who is Jill Scott" is a classic.

I think it's time we speak on Heroes. Baltimore's climate has housed some of the most talented people in the world. Today I will speak on two who are dear to the city. Tupac Shakur, and Jada Pinket. In 1985 Pac's family moved to Baltimore. He attended Roland Park middle( I went there!) and spent his freshman year at Paul Lawrence Dunbar High. Tupac was accepted to the Baltimore School for the Arts during his sophmore year where he studied theater, ballet, poetry, jazz amongst other things. Tupac was a far cry from the things he expressed in some records. He was indeed a complex individual. He was able to grow his creativity at The School of The Arts. He also played the mouse king in the ‘Nutcracker’ play. This very art school is where Jada Pinkett became friends with Tupac.
He studied eastern religions and philosophy His love of Literature led him into rapping. He went under the moniker "MC New York". These artist both went on to pursue their dreams. Pac became a Multi-platinum Hip-Hop artist, and actor. Jada Pinket has gone on to star in many powerful films, and Everybody has a story about Pac' or Jada Pinket here. My cousin used to baby-sit her. When people know that someone came from your same neighborhood it lets them know they can do it too. Recognize your Heroes, follow their footsteps, and make your own destiny!
The two Co-star on A different world. I'm sure yall remember this!

Abaltimorelovething visited our neighbor Washington D.C. yesterday for Willie's Bday after celebrating Teron's bday the night before. For those who don't know Will, he is the man behind Blacksmith Photography, making moves in Bmore with his photo's. Me ( Delaney), Will, Teron, and Trey R went out to D.C. to chill in Georgtown and Downtown. Checked out all the boutiques and stuff, but really just enjoyed the city. All in All we had a cool day, we looked for the damn National Zoo, but couldn't find that shit. I swear we were on the street it's on, and still couldn't find it. D.C. always gets me confused.lol. But I love the city, because they have a good mesh of cultures, and good folks. Me and Will went to Carrie's house with our friend Brittany and her friend Samantha later on West-side of Bmore to have some drinks. Not too much tho, even tho Carrie was fried, and I left my aviators over her house.daamn!. But I gotta say(. "I didn't even have to use my A.K"-cube)
Happy Bday Will.

Some music is timeless. Why do I love it? Because I love when an artist can tap the real feeling within his/her brain and bring it to fruition with a pen. When someone can paint the perfect picture with words, and help take you to their state of mind. This introduces one of my favorite joints off Jay-z's Dynasty album. Every verse on this track is immaculate. The hook is straight to the point, but it says alot. Take a listen.
This Cant Be Life (Feat. Scarface) - Jay-Z
"Wait it get's worse/Baby-mama water burst/Baby came out still born/still I gotta move on"-Jay-z
I used to Argue with friends all day that Nas was better than Jay-z, and in some respects i still feel that way. But when I got older, I realized that every time you listen to Jay-z's catalog you gain a new respect. Simply because of the double-entendres( metaphor's) and triples even. He captures his thoughts like no other. Therefore until further notice Jay is my offical G.O.A.T. Rocafella will always be the best crew tho.
