(Dark Room Productions w/ recording artist Diablo in the middle)
Dark Room Productions which is comprised of Juan Donovan aka Young Avon & Jamal Roberts aka Mr Any MLK is definitely a forced to be reckoned with. They have been doing their thang on the local seen for a minute now, producing The Wire official soundtracks; "All the pieces that Matter" & "Beyond Hamsterdam" LP's - Warner Music Group. In September of 2005 Darkroom released the mixtape "Hamsterdam - The Best of Baltimore". The mixtape pushed close to 200,000 copies worldwide and is the first Baltimore project to get attention and critical acclaim nationwide as well as abroad. In 2007, they also released Hamsterdam 2 - Stash to the Strip. Their national acclaim opened doors for them and is allowing them to work on highly anticipated projects such as Wale, Maino, R.Kelly, Chamillionaire, NOE ( Local artist/Byrdgang), and countless others. They are currently setting up a studio in L.A., and focused on putting there record label Darkroom Productions LLC and their artists (The Get em Mamis, Diablo, and Firearmz) on a mainstream platform.
They also produced this song by Wale that I liked alot.
As a connoisseur of good taste I think it's vital not to limit myself to Bmore only, even i though I love my city!
With that being said I Introduce to you guys Jayms Madison. She's ill. my lil sis introduced me to her music not too long ago. Her voice is beautiful and she has more pitch control than some current artists.
Tabi Bonney is Superdope as a emcee. I don't think yall take him serious cuz his records don't have much lyrics and they are very catchy. But that only makes it better in his case. It's a good formula..he says powerful things with less words. Buy the Cd! it's available now digitally!
He also has beautiful videos. Here's on of my fav's: Syce it/Escalator
I'm sitting here thankin' (atl hoe) how we used to bump crime mob when they first came out. They were just too raw, and Diamond was too sexy. This first cd could still get blasted.
Yo! the release of this shoe is highly anticipated in Bmore right now. From highschool cafeteria talk to ur friendly DTLR. Everyone is waiting for the release of the purple dopedealers! a.k.a. eggplant foamposites. We call em dopedealers cuz they gon' run u like 200 bones, and brothers can't afford that. We in a depression. But the foamposite is a Bmore staple shoe( has been for a minute), along with the nike air force one amongst countless others that dudes be tryna joc. But yea cop a pair, cuz i know i'm gettin mine. Im hearing that they release sometime in feburary. Hopefully!
